The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has decided to grant an amnesty to all footballers who had disciplinary sanctions to serve at the start of the Apertura tournament. According to information from the Argentine News Agency, players with pending suspension dates will not have to serve them, regardless of the severity of the infraction or the competition in which it occurred. Thus, the sanctions will be lifted, and footballers will be eligible for the start of the Apertura, which will take place on the penultimate weekend of January. This measure benefits the players of Estudiantes de La Plata, who were sanctioned with two matches for violating protocol rules and for turning their backs on Rosario Central in the corridor they were supposed to pass through to be congratulated, as their team had been declared champions of the Professional League. After that 1-0 round of 16 match won by 'Pincha', the AFA's Disciplinary Tribunal resolved to sanction the Estudiantes first team with two matches to be served at the start of the Apertura. With this amnesty, the players of the Argentine football champion will be available to coach Eduardo Domínguez for what will be the first match against Independiente in Avellaneda and the second against Boca in La Plata.
